Using adsense on a .org site?

Is this allowed / good web practice?

Found an excellent free .org domain for a new project and I was wondering whether it is ethical to use .org to make money?

I am sure someone told me they were reserved for non-profit?

thanks.

Reserved for non-profit sites? Back in the Middle Ages maybe.

It was a while ago when I heard this rumour!

If you are a for-profit organization, as long as you don't claim to be a non-profit or make it look like you are, you should be fine.

It would be unethical if you made people think you were non-profit and you weren't.

Otherwise, there are plenty of website that use .org that are for-profit. So go for it.

Hi,

".org" meaning "not-for-profit" died as an idea many moons ago. Don't worry about it.

I am running AdSense on my .org site (which happens to be not-for-profit, but that's another matter).

I have also seen AdSense run successfully on many for-profit .org sites. Good question but there's nothing to worry about.
