Creating an ad and changing the pub id. Is it possible?

My client signed up for AdSense and sent me his pub id. He wants me to create a new ad on my Adsense account, then switch the pub id and send him the code. I'm guessing this won't work with the new AS code. I sent him the old code to edit, but he told me he wanted to use the new one.

So is it possible?

I doubt it is possible with the new code. I prefer - and use - the old code.

However, what puzzles me is why your client doesn't just log into their account and create it. A lot less hassle.
