Got a payment that is 25% less than Estimated Earnings without any notification or explanation from Adsense. I cannot even find out if the 25% were deducted from a specific channels or all the channels. Any help is appreciated.

What does "view payment history" say?

Is there any currency conversion involved? I believe Canada was screwed up.

Go to "last month - February" see what it says.

Payment History shows the amount of the payment. Payment details shows the amount of the payment as well.
Currency is USD
Browsed all over the adsense, still no clue where 25% went

I suspect we will be seeing more of this type of thread. Saw a discrepancy with my account too recently. Didn't want to investigate further, because after a few year of trying to guess and work out why adsense phenomena occurs, I have had enough.

Oh, so that's why it's now stated as "estimated earnings" on the Reports page and "finalized earnings" on the Payment History page. Although in my case February's finalized difference is only 0.15% less than estimated and that seems very reasonable, so I never noticed it before. But I think 25% would have caught my attention!

I just had a thought. I wonder if Google passes losses back to the advertiser... For example, if an advertiser ran up a few thousand dollars in ads and then their credit card is rejected when it's time to pay, I wonder if Google takes the money directly from each publisher that received the clicks? Or does the whole pool absorb that loss? There could be other reasons for loss as well, like chargebacks.
