Stat tracker says I click on the adsense, but I no click

I presently employ StatCounter on my site, and it is saying that I occasionally click an adsense ad, but I am not clicking adsense ads (definitely not mine, and very rarely anybody elses).

What could account for such a thing, and how could I find out if these faux clicks are actually registered as reality in GOOGs eyes?

Do they show up in your AdSense control panel?

I wouldn't necessarily believe StatCounter, but how do you know that the ad clicking is being attributed to your IP number and not a visitor?

Probably StatCounter isn't the most reliable, as I think I've been observing a discrepancy between the amount of adsense clicks I see in the StatCounter stats (being higher), and the number of clicks that google counts (hopefully this is the case, and google isn't shorting me clicks).

In Adsense control panel is there a way to see the actual time of each adsense click on my site?

StatCounter gives a click-trail for each visitor so I can see that these ad clicks have been attributed to my IP and occur while I am working on my site.

No, and clicks can sometimes take up to 24 hours to show up, nor are they necessarily posted to your AdSense control panel in the order in which they occurred.

How could I determine this?

Umm, log in and look at your stats?

StatCounter gives a click-trail

StatCounter just cannot count clicks correctly because of browser security, i.e. parent (your page including statcounter) cannot access iframe content (adsense ad). I think statcounter just estimates clicks, for example it may treat it a click if you just hovered ad (as i think statcounter can track ins and outs)

joel, thanks, that would explain things.
