How many Adsense publishers?

10 000, 30 000 or 50 000 publishers

I'm curious to know how much Adsense publishers are active in the Google network.

Any figure?

Their latest quarterly filing had it, I believe. I remember hearing something astounding, like more than a quarter million, but I don't have the citation specifically or remember exactly.

That is the figure I heard as well, no specifics that I could find, but only about 15% of the advertisers get consistent monthly checks, which surprises me, as with affiliates, only about 5% do anything.

Cheers,

Now they have added the cheque number to your payment details you can work out the amount of cheque's issued.

If you deduct last months cheque number from this months cheque number it give's you the amount of publishers which have received payment, this may or may not include any premium publishers?.

In theory anyway it comes to just over 23,000 so they might have quarter of a million publishers but not all of them are receiving a cheque each month.

The way to work it out would be for publishers to reveal part of the cheque number - not all of it. EG yyy1324zzz. Assuming you can catch the top and bottom ends of the run, this will give you an idea to +/- 500. My guess is that there are about 10,000 publishers who earn more than $10 per month.

The total numbers of AS publishers are misleading because there are alot of publishers who have an account, but do nothing/bugger all.

10,000 for $10? where did the 300 million per 3 months go?

Can you share your calculations? I am interested in learning too so I can know where I am.

Between my two checks, I see there are 20K shares sent by google. If you think adsense money is about 100M a month and maybe 50% goes to none google, and google cut half, so 25M/20K=1.25K per check.

Is your check bigger than $1.25K?

Today, at an AdWords seminar in Melbourne (Australia, of course) we were told there are about 2500 publishers in Australia. You could extrapolate from there.

Some SEOs here probably are 25000 publishers all by themselves.

Ah yes but many of those sites are the same publisher. Web site does not equal publisher.

BTW you have to distinguish between active publishers and low/no income earners.

Do not forget about Google opening up AdSense to Bloggers. That had to add a few hundred thousand extra publishers.
