Quick question about CPC. New to Adsense, not to Adwords.

Does the geographic origin of the click influence cpc?

Ok, so I've been using adwords for years, and I know how bidding and cpc and all that quality junk works. Anyway, I have a question about Adsense since I've never really had a use for it.

Assuming all other variables the same, would the cpc (earned) be the same from a user in China as it is from a user in UK as it is from a user in US... etc?

That's an impossible question because the variables are never the same.

That said, I can tell you that from the advertiser's side, running the same ads on the content network in Country A and Country B results in consistently cheaper clicks from Country B even when we start with the same bids in both countries.

In a generality, that is in my research 4/1

US/CA/UK vs India/China

$.60 vs $.15

In my past experience, which is based on a million visitors per week.

Of course these are pre-recession numbers.

As buckworks said, things vary.

Actually there are differences even by zip codes. For the same keywords, clicks from NYC or LA pay more than those in remote areas.

Assuming all other variables the same

It doesn't...it's called Stupid Pricing (TM) or something like it!

How do you differentiate cities from which the visitor is from on Adsense?
