Hi,

I was wondering if removing ads from pages with low traffic / low CPC help get more CPC from pages with ads on it?

Cheers,
Castor

Hi castor_t and welcome to WebmasterWorld.

Some people swear by it, I prefer to show the ads anyway, not sure if it affects my overall EPC (Earning per click) though, have never tested it.

There are a few that have run some tests though, they should be able to help you out more.

My web site has shown time and time again that when I remove low CPM AdSense ads, my overall income goes up (meaning EPC on the remaining ads goes up.) So much so that I start every month re-evaluating my pages and removing ads from low-paying pages.

This being said, there are many here who think I'm crazy. Maybe it only applies to my site, but I would be in a world of hurt if I didn't remove ads from my low paying pages.

This topic comes up again and again...

and I've yet to see anyone define low volume/traffic/earning pages.

Without that, the subject is so subjective no real conclusions can be reached.

I've got a whole section with 1,500+ pages that gets upwards of 3,000 pageviews a day and earns "x"

But then I've got a 2 page section that earns the same money with about 500 pageviews a day

And then I've got a single page that earns the same money with about 20 pageviews a day.

Alone, none of them pay all that much. Together I could drive a nice new luxury car on their earnings. I'm keeping ads on them all.
