This is not a discussion about declining earnings or CTR.

I sent the AdSense Team a Christmas Card to thank them for hanging out in this forum, for listening to our feedback, for acting on our feedback. 2009 is the year that the AdSense Team kicked butt on a number of fronts, including rolling out new ways for us to block unwanted ads, decreasing the time for ads to stop showing once we add them to our filters, for being responsive during the several glitches we have experienced and correcting them swiftly.

The AdSense program may not be perfect, however AdSense is quite likely the very best way for the average webmaster to monetize their website. It's easy to implement, easy to tweak. I monetize many different kinds of websites in a variety of niches under many programs. By far, the AdSense program is without peer.

I don't know what changes were made at the AdSense team this year, but without question this has been the year that they have done more for publishers than any other year that I can recall. For that, they deserve at the very least a Christmas Card.

If you want to send one too, here is their address:

AdSense Advisor
c/o The AdSense Team
1600 Amphitheater Pkwy
Mountain View, CA 94043

Sycophant! :)

Is it not the case that they should be sending us the cards? After it is we publishers who help earn them all their money.

What profit is there in spreading Christmas cheer? Bah. Humbug! You are another year older and not an hour richer. You keep Christmas in your way and I'll keep Christmas in mine. Good afternoon. :) ;)

I've not sent any cards out this year, and won't be either. Even her indoors won't be receiving one.

Bah Humbug.

It's not very environmentally friendly to send cards. I'll probably just click on a few of my ads and generate them some revenue instead.

Call it a Christmas bonus ;)

Nicely done.

I believe in doing the same: contacting people for more than complaining or asking favors... to say thanks. I never thought about it this way with Adsense.

That's a good idea, perhaps I will do it too. And I'll fill out the inside in the form of a text ad.

That's a great idea, MB. I'm sure the Adsense and Adwords teams tend to hear mostly the flack and not enough positive feedback. I think a lot of people don't post when their earnings are up so as not to brag or hurt some of the less Adsense fortunate posters' feelings, so I'm sure ASA hears a lopsided view of the negative comments and not enough from people doing really well with Adsense.

I appreciate both AWA and ASA hanging out here in spite of all of the negative comments often directed at their products.

I don't get the - Even her indoors won't be receiving one.

British humor. I think the American translation for "her indoors" would be "better half". :)

Last year I sent a Chistmas E-Mail to the (German) support team and thanked them for their support and cooperation (truly and without any sarcasm).

It was the first one that didn't get answered - I hope they received it ;)

George Cole as Arthur Daley in the TV series "Minder" referred to his wife as "her indoors".

I treat Google as a business partner and it is very common to send holiday greetings to all business partners.

I for one am Thankful for Google and the income they provide me. It's so easy for everyone to complain on here about Google but have you considered life without Google? If you have already found a better alternative then you shouldn't even be reading this.

Thanks Google for a great 2009 and here's to an even better 2010!

I thought the card was a really nice gesture. Google might be out of favour but the current Adsense Adviser has been fabulous and deserves a million cards. I'm only sorry I didn't manage a limerick. Every person we deal with on here is an actual human and has feelings and things.

Maybe if we are nice the 20% time next year could be developing weapons to fight the accountants.

Hear that sound?

Might be Xmas chimes, could be Jingle Bells...

NO! It's AdSense filling my bank account >KACHING!< >KACHING!< >KACHING!<

Merry Xmas to ASA and all her cohorts at the AdSense Team for such a wonderful green Xmas! ;)
