I'm seeing image ads in place of my normal text ads here and there this morning. I opted for just the text ages ago. Anybody else seeing this behavior? Is the Gorg a bit money hungry today?

Are you running old Adsense code? If you are, and the 'Type' field in your ad code is set to 'text_image' you'll still get image ads until you update the ad code.
