Allowing users to add their own adsense code

We want to allow our users to display their adsense code on their personal pages.

I can't think of any way this could possibly negatively effect my earnings but I'm still feeling a little anxious.

Anything I should consider before going live with this?

Thanks

Personally, I wouldn't do it.
If one decides to self-click then it could put all accounts at risk.
If anything, I would make a channel for each user and pay them from what is earnt from it. Still open to abuse, but only one account at risk.

I only see this story ending badly for you...a couple false-clicks and Google bans your site form having AdSense altogether.

Hmm good points. I'll email adsense and see what they suggest. Thanks for the replies.

Doesn't Google have a program specifically for situations like this?

[code.google.com ]

If the pages of your "users" generate less than 100k/day, you have to do it the old fashioned way.

I've been doing revenue sharing for years, but only with trusted users.

While there are many people that will warn you away, for various reasons, I have yet to hear of a confirmed case of Google shutting down a site owner's adsense account because of actions by one of the other accounts on the site.

Not being a "genius" in this area.

DON'T play around.

Try, it "might" just work - the downside is of course "Disaster".

Your choice, please let us know!

I've spoken with numerous people from the AdSense team about this exact same concept at various conferences, such as Pubcon and SES. I've received several variations of responses.

I earn substantial income from AdSense. Unless there is a uniform consensus, I'm not comfortable trusting the AdSense reps with my income.

Thanks for the link BigDave.

The pages create over 100,000 page views per day though I still feel concerned. I'll ask my account manager but as Dataguy said, its putting my life in their hands pretty much hmm
