The week started great, but Thursday and Friday record lows in CTR.

Hope this is only some sort of end of the month effect.

Friday CTR 30% below monthly average

CTR and impressions remained consistent, but damn... eCPM dropped by 50% Thursday and 60% Friday! Yep. Terrible end to the month, but I still am on track to having a good month thanks to increased traffic from Bing.

Real traffic from Bing, or referer spam?

Yea, today seems to be quite low..

But last week I had some lower earnings. Also, the overall earnings are the record highest for me.

But this is also due to increased traffic by 30-40%.. cpm ctr remains kind of Okish.

Halloween. People are partying...

Yeah, at night. Still daytime in UK, Europe, Canada and USA where most of my traffic comes from.

I don't normally get involved in the daily CTR/eCPM chicken little discussions, but today is definitely starting at rock bottom here as well.

Sometimes it kicks into high gear midday and catches up but I think today will be a bust for what has been a really good month overall.

Stupid holidays and people that binge drink at parties that are too hung over to shop.

What's wrong with those people?

Don't they realize they have ads to click?

I had a much lower-than-average CTR and eCPM on Tuesday the 27th, though EPC was normal. Since then, things have bounced back, and Friday was well above the month-to-date average. (Today is looking good, but it's too early to make a judgment.)

Hear! Hear!
With 6 hours to go, today looks like it's going to be 3 for 3 really sucky days.

Oh well... Onward November!

Yes, today and the last couple of days have been carpy!

This is a record month for me, even still, but I guess I was getting greedy by wanting to get to a certain figure and I'm just missing it by a little due to the last couple of days.

Still grateful for the great month though.

Are you suggesting that there's something fishy about your stats? :-)

Last couple of days have been abysmal for me too. Today, things appear to be recovering with grace. I suspect depleted ad budgets were the culprit.

CTR went up the last few days of the month but EPC fell in a hole. Down by an average of 50%

Why? I dunno nor do any of us except for speculation.

The good news for me: slightly better income than oct 2008. Yes!
The bad news: I have way more traffic than a year ago one more website doing well, solid and stable. So, more traffic, more page impressions, more clicks... but less income per day-month at the end...

I worked very hard only to stay very near from were I was, ouch!

My end of the month was terrible, too. Even so, an all-time high was missed by about 1%.

ECPM still down here, haven't recovered after end of October. It's a sorry sight.

Now for Nov, CTR down a fair bit but EPC getting back to near normal and eCPM nearing early October.

After over six years I still can't figure it out. Actually I don't bother, just go with the flow and roll with the punches.

After over six years I still can't figure it out.

I can. It's easy. I make sure I play by the rules. Google gets advertisers. Depending on whether they can meet their daily/monthly income target (also referring to their daily reading of tea leaves or crystal ball), they then flip a dial to determine if I get a small nibble of cheese of a big chunk. At the end of the month, I happily walk in to the bank to get my money. Easy.
