Six Years Later, Still Refused for AdSense

Six summers ago, I had earned about $95 through AdSense. I mentioned to my daughter that we were just $5 away from getting to $100 when Google would send me a check and that maybe I'd put some of it towards the pair of sneakers she wanted. She and a friend went off to summer school one day and clicked and clicked and clicked on my site to get me over the $100 mark -- which we would have been over anyway soon because the site was getting pretty good traffic.

You can imagine Google's response to the overclicking. My account was canceled, the $95 was voided and every time I try to sign up a site with AdSense, six years later, I get rejected.

I've emailed Google, I've snail-mailed them, I've tried calling, explaining what went down, asking for some understanding but all I get is silence -- and repeated rejections.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like Google is a firm believer in the saying "One stung, twice shy."

Look at alternatives such as banner-ad networks or affiliate programs. AdSense is a great "set and forget" income producer for small publishers, but it isn't the only possible source of revenue.

Put up a notice on your website that you accept direct advertising and have some prices per month and see if you get any bites?

Google can really hold a grudge can't they? Lesson to all publishers out there. If it were up to me I'd give you a second chance, but I can understand their position. They must crack down hard on these things because their main concern is the advertisers. They need to show their advertisers that they have a zero tolerance towards fraudulent activity.

pab1953 - that's a tough story. I'm not sure Google would ever forgive this - they have too much to lose. Your best bet is to try another network.
