Before I used to only have ads, on high paying ads that were paying 20 cents.

Now Ive changed this and put ads on every single page
Sure my ads are hitting over 10k impressions and getting less for each click

But it just seems to that by surrounding your users with ads on every single page just earns you more $$$ by having more people clicking on them

Than having less adds with less clicks but higher earnings

Also bigger ads seem to work better than smaller ads
My adds are the same colour as my background and wrap around text

can anyone else concur with this strategy?

It works excellent if you add another webpage with a high traffic.
In total if you have three high traffic sites, you should be doing very well.

I did the same thing. We doubled our income by adding a ton more pages. Our traffic went up about 10 times and EPC went way down but we doubled our income. Thats all that matters. The only number you need to worry about is the ammount of money you end up with. There is no reason to turn away traffic to keep your CTR 2 digits. I would give up CTR any day for more money.

Yes, the bottom line is more money coming in, however, it's even better if more money is coming in without laying out more money to get that increased income. Therefore, profits are king, not gross.

It appears that your main point here is that it is a "brilliant" idea that you can make more advertising money from a page that has advertising on it than one that doesn't have any advertising at all.

Well, it's hard to argue with that formula for making more money. I might quibble about its brilliance, though.

not really, when you consider that some keywords are paying $10 - $20

Though I might see if I can build some websites in these high paid, but very competitive markets

People that make money off of affiliate marketing (adsense, cj) Don't rely on the top or even top 10 words for most of their income. If you do a site right 50% of your traffic will come from kw's that show one visitor in a month time period in your stat report. This is a very prfound statement. Consider it a gift.

I use weblog expert and for me 5,000 different keywords is the most I get from a single engine. Frankly, after it goes to single digits, I do not really look further down unless I am really bored.

Would not mind having to worry about more than 10,000 terms from a single engine, having to look for a more robust weblog analyzer would be a nice problem to have :)

Not sure the last time you updated or checked your settings, but I can set my weblog expert to 10,000 phrases per engine.

Thanks American, actually I know about that option, but I was mistaken about not needing more than 5,000. I ran my September log and another 1,500 words showed up.

I would still like to be in a position to need a more robust analyzer. :)

Well, I am not getting over $10.00 per click on adsense, but my average click is just above $2.00 per click, which is why I thought 20 cents was a bit low.

I once had one click worth over $7.00 but that was about it, and as far as I can tell never happened again.

excuse my ignorance here, but when speaking of 5k - 10k phrases from the log, what exactly are we talking about? Is this the phrases used in search engines by visitors to your site? If so (or not), what do you do with the information?

In a kw stat report it lists the number of unique searches that were used to come to your site. The are listed in order of how many times they were used. One thing I did with that was I counted up the number of terms that were only typed in once for a whole month and compared it to the number of se visitors and found out that 48% of my visitors came from terms that were only typed in once in a 30 day period. You can also put them into excel or access and run reports.

You can use the information to find out clusters of words around a particular topic that are not popular enough to make it in the top 100, but that taken together might bring in as many visitors as your #1 keyword.

We all want a keyword that brings several hundred a day, but depending on how popular your site is you are lucky to get one or a handful of those. On the other hand, having 20 words that bring a dozen a day is as good if not better as your risk of loosing that top ranking for the one popular word is not there.
