Smartpriced because of accidental clicks from mobile users?

Can accidental clicks from mobile users cause smartpricing?

I run a website that talks about widgets that are useful to iPhone users.

While only about 10% of my visitors come browsing from their iPhones, they account for a full third of my Adsense clicks. I'm pretty sure these are accidental clicks resulting from iPhone users tapping to zoom and pan on their browsers.

My eCPM has steadily gone down over the months and I attribute this to Smartpricing from these accidental clicks.

I'm going to block these users or redirecting them to an Adsense-free version of the site. Presumably my EPC and eCPM should slowly come back up - but I'll only have a third of the earlier clicks than before, so it won't bring earnings back up. But it's still the best thing to do.

Has someone fixed a major accidental clicks issue and seen Smartpricing being applied less and less over time? How long did it take for EPC and eCPM to come back up to respectable levels?

You could argue this the other way around--that people browsing from iPhones are more likely to be interested in and act on the ads they see, because they are seeing ads for apps they can download right away...

Good point, but not really. From what I can tell, most of the ads are for other smartphones, accessories, and deals on other gadgets. Almost none of those advertisers will be able to convert a mobile visitor easily.

I'm going to block these users or redirecting them to an Adsense-free version of the site.

A better and simpler option would be to serve other kind of ads to these users.
