How do you know if your account is banned?

I got today an email "Google Adsense Account Disabled" with the standard clause [about the account posing a risk to advertisers]

But the email was addressed to an email we never used to sign up for the Adsense account (and also not our Google gmail account). Plus, the header seems that the email is from Taiwan

I can still login. We've been with Adsense since 2003 with no slaps or violations, but receiving this type of email can still scare the living daylights out of me.

How do you know if your account is banned?

Are your ads still showing? That might provide a clue...

Are the ads still displaying on your site? If they are, you should be alright. It was probably spam.

Let us know when you get an actual email from Google as there won't be any mistaking when you're banned. ;)

It's definitely a fraud email if it's not been sent to the email in your account.

Generally if they ban you they'll stop showing ads and email in a vauge way to say why. The IP address in those mails ought to resolve to Google.

So don't worry, be happy.

Myself I have 5 emails today saying I have underpaid my taxes. The tax man doesn't have my email address!

The ads are still showing up in my site, and I could log in :o)

It's just that when Adsense earnings reach a certain level ($15-20K+) per month, the thought of losing all that income becomes scary.

At that sort of level, do you not get someone at Google you can talk to?

At "that level" you still don't get an Adsense person to talk to.

If your ads are still showing then I guess you're OK. But something in your background thoughts are making you feel vulnerable. Address those worries to avoid future concerns.

del your cookies and refresh your page. If your ads are still there youre fine.

When the checks stop coming in, it's always a sure sign.

nomis5 .. yes we do have an Adsense rep, but I guess I just find the WebmasterWorld folks to be faster in terms of response and when I posted this I wanted a faster answer :o)

I am seeing more and more very cleverly disguised emails (some at the genuis level for their genuine look and feel) to get you to click on a link or open an attached file.

P.S. What does it take to be assigned an Adsense rep, traffic, income, or whatever else?
