Does Google have an Adsense Crawler?

After a webpage visit, a Google crawler visits that page!

Earlier, I created an audit log for selected pages on my website. A few months ago, I added Google Adsense ads to most of my webpages. Since then, within 2 seconds of a page visit, the following Google Crawler visits that page:

crawl-66-249-66-16.googlebot.com

I checked, and that TCP/IP resolves to Google.

Has anyone else had that experience?
Why would Google do that?

It normally has reference to Mediapartners-Google/2.1 but hey google are always testing new things ;)

It has visited your site to check the text which is on the page, if your webpage is about bluewidgets then the adsense ads will match.

But remember, the AdSense crawler is different than GoogleBot, so getting crawled by the media bot does nothing for you in the normal index.
