Third Party Ads and Interest based ads. On or Off?

Hey fellow Adsense'ers,

I've never bothered turning either of these options off. But I'm wondering what the effect might be.

Have you played about with different options and what effects if any did you notice?

I turned them off from the start. I see it as a way of banned adword users returning via the back door.
