just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. i noticed this a while back and it's been going on for weeks.

i sometimes recognise ads that appear on my pages over and over again, which i don't mind too much because they are well targeted. but every now and then i want to block one so i right-click on the link like normal, to get the URL, and at the end of the URL i see this...

GOOGLE_PLACEMENT%3Dwww.example.com

... where example.com is my own site.
so i'm assuming that these ads have been targeted to my site. because not all of the ads contain that phrase.

but when i go into my adsense account and look in the 'Ad Review Centre', there is no mention of it.

So either the Ad Review Centre is messed up and doesn't work properly, or this phrase means something else. anyone know for sure?

I have this exact problem. I've seen ads that don't ever appear on the review page. I've blocked these ads on the competitors tab.

I haven't seen the google placement thing, will look for it

Could it be that this is just a variable that the advertiser can automatically pre-fill with the site value (and just badly named)? I remember back when arbitrage schemes were very hot, that one particular advertiser had also the site name as variable in the URL...?

Just guessing here as I do have too little knowledge on Adwords.
