Hi,

I run a news/community site with about 15,000 members.
Since the bandwidth has been going through the roof with the file downloads i signed up to google adsense.

Someon on the forums made a post about the adverts and how everyone should click it loads of times, ive since closed it and asked people NOT to click on the ads unless they actually interested in the ad.

What happens if multiple people keep clicking? Im thinking of the wider issue at the moment. What happens if you run a website and your competitor thinks it might be a fun idea to spam your ads with the intention of getting you removed from google adsense. Does it happen?

This is a great question! I am sort of going thru this sort of thing right now. What I plan to do is set up an IP tracking device to track user's IPs who have indeed clicked and compare them to user from my high traffic'ed message board. Then tell them NOT to click my ads repetitivly or they will be banned.

Why not contact Google through your AdSense account and alert them to what you user posted and to what you are doing about it? I would think that if you do that and one of your site's users trips AdSense's filter, your proactiveness could go a long way to keeping you in the program. Sounds like you are doing everything you can to abide by their terms.
