I have been seeing targeted ads throughout this time frame, but others have reported not seeing the ads at all, so there are also some sort factors at play which seem geospecific.
What else have people been noticing? Any others with the same significant revenue drop during this time period? I often see higher revenues when others are complaining about poor earning days, so my experience might not be the norm :) I am also interested to see if this has had a trickle down effect for those serving to the UK market as well.
I have not had any downtime either.
Too early to call any effect the outage may have made to sites targetting the mid-west and west coast.....it is only just past midnight EST....peak traffic hours are still in play out west.
(with sincere sympathies to those truly affected by the power issue .. jokes aside)
One problem I've encountered is .. seems like every time I try to run a "test" to evaluate some change .. there's some netwide snafu that bugs things up and makes my data uncertain. - I imagine I'm not alone on that one!
I copy my statistics about every hour to an Excel spreadsheet, and there is no regular pattern, that I can find. CTR and Cent per Click vary so much, from one hour to the other, that it is impossible to see the reason. (The Ads are the same!)
Even though I get a nice amount of Impressions and Clicks, I haven't been able to try other Adcolors yet, since I could not tell if a change in CTR etc. was due to Color or just 'normal' Google behaviour.
And my CTR isn't in the triple digits like some have reported - in fact, it probably wouldn't envoke a warning on a day without technical issues. Just happens to be much higher than usual.
