AdSense on Search Results pages?

How does this work?

I tried to find some of the threads on having AdSense on search results pages, but the WebmasterWorld site search ignores the words "search", "results" and the phrase "search results". So if this has been asked before, mea culpa.

I believe that I read here that you can place AdSense ads on your own search results pages (like for a web site search). If I am wrong on this please correct me.

If it is true, I can't understand how it works. How can AdSense choose targeted ads for your search results pages, before AdSense's mediabot has had time to scan the content of the search results page? What am I missing here?

Thanks.

sometimes adsense will show ads based on your site's theme, which will loosely match the content of your search terms.

Also, you can also use google to search old WebmasterWorld posts. Ironically enough, the google sitesearch for webmaster world works better than the WebmasterWorld internal search.

Use this as your google query:
site:www.webmasterworld.com adsense on search results
