Hello

A person called me today evening to confirmed my mail ID and payment address. Seems to be Indian. I think G is asking there country/Local partners to call the regional publishers.

Yes, to verify the address etc....to ensure safety ( and probably better facility) of payments to their publishers.
BTW it's against the TOS to discuss here.

Which TOS is he breaking exactly. Taken literally, every single person that posts here is breaking a TOS as they shouldn't be discussing Adsense (section 7 just about covers denying that google even exists).

The TOS states you cannot reveal any correspondence etc you had with them.....I hope i got it right?

Make sure you're not the subject of a phishing scam! It wouldn't be hard to find AdSense publishers, then contact them and try to extract enough information to steal their accounts.

In fact, I assume the motive for Adsense to contact them is to ensure that this kinda scam doesnt happen.....and safeguard the publisher's accounts.

The first rule of Adsense is, you do not talk about Adsense.

The second rule of Adsense is, you DO NOT talk about Adsense.

See this thread [webmasterworld.com] from about a week ago, particularly Jenstar's msg 17 and ASA's msg 18.

I suggest adsense could send them a follow-up mail after the calling them........since a call could make some publishers nervous.

Publishers should have received an initial email from AdSense alerting them that they would be receiving a phone call. And yes, these calls are legitimate.

<added>And as for the AdSense terms, we don't police posts to make sure they conform with the AdSense terms, just that they follow the WebmasterWorld Terms of Service [webmasterworld.com]</added>

Looks like G's picking up on the outsourcing tune too. Adsense support, or part of it at least, will now be provided from Hyderabad, India. I read in another topic about Indian publishers getting calls from India itself, for the address verification. In the future, others will too.

I believe Google already has offices in India, so it is not so much outsourcing as it is hiring employees for various jobs at their various offices throughout the world.

That's correct, Google does have ofices in India. They are about to ramp up the strength, and provide more of AS support from Hyderabad.

The first rule of Adsense is, you do not talk about Adsense.
The second rule of Adsense is, you DO NOT talk about Adsense.

The third rule of Adsense is, you talk about Overture.

OTOH, quite frankly, the paranoia surrounding breaking TOS (specially such trivial things like this) at times amazes me.
