I'm enjoying a record earning day thanks to a new advertiser. Goes to show that if an ad is good, people will check it out.

Me too considering the way things have been going since Sept. 08, it's nice to see a rebound like this. Hope it lasts for more than a day.

Great news Play_Bach, yesterday was a little lower than usual and today the eCPM is AWESOME!

How can you tell which advertiser is generating the most income?

I'm making an educated guess. It's an advertiser I've never seen before and it's getting the top spot in all my AdSense formats all day, so I'm guessing they're spending more than the usual suspects.

Lucky you! Send them my way when you're done with them.

I've seen the same thing. One in particular has been doing it a few times a month for the last couple of years.

I just did a sort to see where today's total stands in the grand scheme of my AdSense earnings since joining up nearly five years ago. Right now, it's the single highest earning day since mid December 2008. I don't see it breaking any records of yesteryear, but it's nice to see numbers like this again.

If you get a lot of repeat visits then it can take some fresh on-topic advertising to nudge visitors back into clicking.

When I see earnings like yesterday, it would seem to indicate that AdSense ad blindness is not as dire as some suggest. From what I can tell, your average computer user makes no distinction between Google's search results and Sponsored (AdSense) ads. If it looks like a good lead, they'll click on it.

Nothing beats a good bidding war on your site.

I've observed similar things from time to time in the past - or at least I think my observations are accurate.

I guess this might be throwing cold water on the party, but when I see something like this, it makes me wonder if the advertiser is paying more than he needs to get impressions/clicks because of a lack of understanding of the complexities of AdWords. And if he is and finds out, will that mean we'll lose that advertiser forever, not to mention the bad PR as he goes on forums, business meetings, etc. and tells about his bad experience.

That's a good point. Guess I can only hope that they stick around and don't run out of cash any time soon.

There are plenty more who will follow behind them. Sure, they might badmouth the system because of their bad experience. But these guys likely aren't the sharpest tools in the shed to start with, and people who know them probably already take their advice with a grain of salt. Besides, every fool thinks they can succeed where others have failed, simply by changing the formula a little bit.

Ouch!

From time to time I stop by the AdWords forum and I see people who have had a good experience badmouth the system - even those who are so good at AdWords they get paid by others to manage AdWords accounts - and some of those people are also publishers and post on this forum. Some might not like the dull tool comparison.
