The power outage in the Northeast has brought down [google.com...] Interestingly, reporting is still up, but not being updated since there are no Adsense ads being displayed.

Guess it depends on location - I've checked a few of the sites my ads regularly display on, and none of them are showing adsense at all. period.

This probably has less to do with Google and more to do with your connection. Do a traceroute... You'll see 10 or so servers that your data goes through before it hits Google.
I had no problems, but that's to be expected as I'm in the south.
