Is adsense serving affected by page caching at all?

We use drupal and were serving adsense from blocks, which were not cached. All was OK. The block was serving on a story page, which was cached. I mean the page was cached but the block was not.

Few days ago, we decided to serve adsense directly from templates,

Earnings declinded 30 percent already the 3rd day. Don't know if it's because of the change and needs time or serving in blocks that are not cached are better than serving directly from template that are cached.

However, this should not have any effect should it? Aren't adsense codes java based and therefore no effect?

Thank you.

Whenever I look at one of my pages that has been cached, the AdSense ads appear just fine, but they are always UNTARGETED. Clearly, this is done "on purpose". I don't know the reason for this, but it is totally repeatable. Cached page = untargeted ads. Anyone know why?

Does the address of the page change when pages are cached? ie : cache.example.com/page.htm That would cause trouble as google won't have crawled the cached page address.

Otherwise I can't think how they would know if you were caching or not at the server level.

No, but it's an interesting problem. How would the javascript know if a dynamic page was cached or not unless you're caching it client side?
