UK Adsense Publishers Will HAVE TO Have Local Currency Payments

Google doesn't want to pay UK advertisers from the US any more

As a UK Adsense publisher I'm now getting messages every login to change my currency for reporting to UK Pounds and accept new terrms and conditions meaning that we will be paid out of Ireland.

As Ireland is in the EU this may have VAT/TAX implications as we are technically no longer billing a non-EU organisation.

Anyone have any more information as to why Google is doing this and why they can't keep the status quo for existing publishers?

I wish they had a "stop asking me" button.

They have a button to stop asking you: all you need to do is convert.

Who says I want to convert just yet ?

If converting I would be tempted until after this months PIP. I converted last week and now my payment history says the USD balance will be added to my GBP between 12-15th of the month (which will now be August)

Does this mean I will not get paid this month? Some have said the same issue was discussed last month and payment where made as normal, however for peace of mind I would have preferred to wait until being paid before converting.

Please be aware that once you have updated the currency in your account, we cannot reverse the change. We will also require this change in future so we recommend that you update your account soon.

This is a no option situation at the moment and note:

we cannot reverse the change.

I have written to Google telling them I am possibly about to relocate countries and do not wish to change from USD since "we cannot reverse the change.".

How darned stupid is that? If I were to move to Eurozoneland or USA I wouldn't be able to have payment in the local currency and would have to exchange GBP cheques.

Huh...knock knock...anyone listening at the Plex?

So you do have a choice ...

Welcome to the beautiful new Google world; now I am just waiting for the unavoidable post saying that we as publishers should stop complaining. After all we are free to leave the program at any time... *sigh*

@huskypup:
I think you might need a new account anyway to support that address change, ask them ...
