AdSense for search vs Free Search

Showing very different search results

Did anyone else notice that the results displayed in the AdSense for search window are very different from the ones in Free search (and for that matter from Google.com)

Try a search for a very common word or phrase on your site. Pick one that is on almost every page.
Use both search boxes. In my case the AdSense for search shows a tenth of the pages that show up using Free search or Google.com (same results there).

One theory is that AdSense for search isn't showing the supplemental results or very old pages...

Any other takes on that?

Mysery solved. The explanation from Google on the difference, is that it is all about the supplemental results index.

Small snippet from the mail:

The primary reason for these differences is that Google currently does not syndicate certain beta features, including the supplemental results index.

Supplemental results are triggered on a relatively small number of queries for which Google's main index does not provide many results. Because this index is still in testing, we do not feel that it is ready to be offered to our AdSense for search partners.

So AdSense for search just won't display anything but the "Sure hits". Question now is: Is this better for us or not?

I for one would be happier if I had more ads, but 4 ads with a zillion results might be better than 4 ads with just 20 serps...
