Skyscrapers with dividers Between Ads

Interestingly I have just seen one of the big adsense users now has little dividers between the ads on their Adsense skyscraper site. It breaks it up a little and is a little different.

I wonder if they are testing it for Google as this was the site that I first saw two ads per page a month before it was announced that the rest of us could do it. It'll be interesting to see if this becomes an available design option for the rest of us in the next few weeks.

Also I just noticed that this particular user has another option at the bottom of their ads that says:

"Change to Ads About:" and then it lists five other related topics to click on. When you click on one of the options the ads change to ones related to the topic at hand.

Also after you click on a couple of 'change ads' options a search field comes up that says:

"Change to Ads About:"

This allows you to type in a request for ads about any particular topic!

So it seems Adsense are testing a feature that lets our readers choose their own topics for ads! Interesting. I'm not sure how many of my readers would take the time to toggle the ads. But this feature would be useful for ME if I could have a little more control over the ads my users see on particular pages - which I'm not seeing as an option.

Has anyone else seen these options? I could tell you the site but I know it would be deleted...

Hi auseyeidol,

Sounds as if you have been checking your stats...

Well, I see it too, and after clicking one of the alternative categories i tried some keywords of my own, that weren't related to the site in any way at all.

That in turn put up other kinds of alternative categories, and after clicking a few of those, the ads ran out and I got the backup PSA-alternative skyscraper.

Besides. The experimental code said
Ads by Google.

I like it!

Yeah I kind of like it too - but wonder if anyone will use it and if they will have a way of measuring the success of it (ie if people do use the options).

interesting...

It's gone. At least where I saw it...

yes - it only lasted 24 hours that I saw. Obviously a pretty quick test - either that or they saw this thread and decided to remove it and test it elsewhere...
