I just saw a website serving AdSense in Russian (including Russian PSAs).

I checked AdSense FAQ [google.com] and Russian was not one of them.

When did it change? Are there any other languages that are approved now, besides the ones listed there? Could it be only for selected people?

If you would like to see the site in question - sticky me.

I was serving ads on pages in Serbian and Croatian language before I was informed that I should remove AdSense code from those pages. Most strange thing is that Google was actually serving ads on Sebian and Croatian on those pages

Not strange at all. Google accepts adverts in almost any language, and will display those ads on it's langugae specific versions. What they can't do yet is reliably analyse websites in those languages to determine which ads to show.

So, as soon as they figure out how to read Russian or Croatian or Chinese (as opposed to just checking against the keywords selected by the advertiser) we'll be allowed to show them.

But it actually shows "Ads by Gooooogle" in Russian too. Not just Russian ads. And, actually, most of the ads on the site were in English (area related).
