Question from a novice

Hi all,
Hearing about making huge sums of cash through Adsense, I have decided to give it a try. Do you think that website about cell phones or laptops reviews might work? I'm not expecting K's. Just something around $30/day will be fine.
Please advice on what topics I might consider as a start.

There's a lot more people making pennies than making $30/day. The web is full of sites about cell phones and laptops. You need to find something unique.

If you are expecting a get rich scheme with AdSense, keep on looking. Although it is somewhat of a build-it-and-the-money-comes-in kinda thing, the money won't be rolling in without a lot of time and effort on your part. There's an old adage that you've probably heard thousands of times- if it was easy, everyone would be doing it.

If everyone was doing it, then everyone would be rich. If everyone was rich, the world would not be in a recession right now. Ergo, it ain't a get-rich-quick scheme.

I largely second LifeinAsia's post. If you want to earn a steady $30/day using adsense, you should be prepared to invest a considerable amount of time and effort into writing your content and promoting it correctly. If you don't know how to do that, read up on content writing and SEO first. Although many ebook authors claim to sell 'their secret to passive overnight millions', I can wholeheartedly say *there is no secret to adsense*. It only takes a lot of diligence (get out there and WRITE), a lot of persistence (if at first you don't succeed...) and a little bit of luck (Google can be a bit icky at times).

your are right LifeinAsia, I'm not in hopes for becoming rich out of Adsense but for me30 per day is just a lot of money. Regarding the traffic I made some experments with Adwords, "cell phone" was searched more than 10 million times in one month and the keyword value is about $3 so I thouh if I will work on my site I would definitely get share of that big traffic. Well I guess something unique or say more specfic wont get much traffic even if the competition is not high on such a supject.

omarelec, before you start with anything I would suggest you read Google's adsense TOS and make sure by the letter. I'm not suggesting you're breaking any rules (okay, I admit, the word 'adwords' triggered my gut feeling), but just to be sure, make sure you know it by heart.

Professional athletes also make tons of money, you should go practice some sport outside, maybe in a year or two you'll be a milionaire too. See how that sounded?

Just? That actually still require a lot of work to reach, but it is a more attainable and reasonable goal for someone starting. Good luck and don't fall for gimmicks!

thank you for the advice johnnie. Anyway I'm not going to build my life around Adsense but at least one will learn something along the way weather it is success or filure I guess.

The responses you have received here have summed it all up.

However,

If you had a competitive and popular online store actually selling (real) mobile phones and if this site was viable, marketable and useful to your visitor, to the point it received tons of traffic because it stood on it's own merits; Then i would say that you stood a some chance.

Except to say:

That the ads for this particular niche would probably be tainted with so much arbrirtage crap that all your efforts to monetise it using Adsense would be negated.

Capitalist and even Communist systems are essential a hierarchy on where the the base consists of poor, supporting only a relatively small pinnacle of extremely rich. If everyone was rich, the whole thing would come tumbling down.

You probably have a much better chance of making the$30.00 a day by building a site in a MUCH less competitive field.

To begin with you might actually be able to get enough high quality links to support a niche siteso that you could get a good enough serps postion and traffic.

If you really think that already, then you will never succeed at this, and should probably look for another earning opportunity elsewhere.
