Banning link unit terms?

One of the keywords offensive - can I ban it?

I have a link unit on my site, but one of the keywords it suggests is pretty offensive. How can I remove it or ban it from my site?

I don't think the competitive filter works on those, other than maybe the individual ads that are shown on the second page.

Which is too bad, because I see keywords I'd like to ban too (haven't seen any offensive ones yet, but I sometimes get some *way* off topic ones due to the nature of my sites)

Short answer is - I think you're stuck.

If you ever use that word, use section targeting to tell Google to ignore it.

You could also try rewriting the pages where that word appears in your link units--might shift the algorithm to a different focus.

Or you could wait. I have noticed that the keywords in link units do drift or cycle into other areas. If visitors don't click the offensive one it may disappear.
