For the last several days I noticed that Google seems to be showing clicks on different days than they occur. For instance, Wednesday was my best day ever, revenue-wise, but with less than average clicks. Thursday opened with an unusually high ctr and not much revenue. That alone had me guessing. I know they don't all update simultaneously. It seems as though impressions are added in real time and clicks and revenue are added at Google's whim. Lately, however, it seems as though they are intentionally spreading the clicks generated during one day over the next. today was the kicker. I happened to look at my stats while I had 1 impression, three clicks, and a cpm of $2,140.
It'd sure be nice if the cpm could carry through the day.;)

Whenever I have a day where the CTR is far below average, the next day the CTR is way above average. I was just assumed that some clicks where somehow more questionable than others, and were for some reason delayed.

I've been saying for months now that it appears some of the metrics are being carried forward. I have no way of knowing if it's "intentional".

I'm also finding that my numbers get adjusted upwards slightly in the following days. These micro adjustments can even happen a few days later. It's as if a few clicks everyday were suspect and the earnings withheld, but then they pass a filter check and I get credited. It is usually less than 2% of the daily total.

I have the same experience and my thought is in line with creepychris. This adjustment is small, does't effect much the overall stats.

Pure speculation, of course, but it sounds like a logical thing for Google to do.

It could be that part of the google system that processes and evaluates clicks slows down. These adsense clicks don't get passed on in time and they appear the next day.

Many adwords users complain that they stop a campagin and clicks (and charges) still seem to appear afterwards. The most likely explanation is that the clicks were recorded, but not processed in real time.

So: Adwords is slow-ish to deduct money for clicks and therefore Adsense is slow-ish to credit them.

I think this also accounts for some of the those 'worse day ever' emails that make frequent appearances in this forum.
