Today (March 4) we are working on some maintenance. As OutdoorWebcams pointed out, it's been announced on the blog.

I'm sorry for the short notice, but I can assure you that ad serving is not affected.

I woulda believed that, except I just saw a 160x600 block on one of my own sites with only one ad in it, and I've never ever ever ever seen that before. I refreshed and it was back to normal, but one has to wonder.

I've seen different numbers of ads in my skyscrapers for a few months now, maybe even a year. At first I thought it was a glitch, but then I read how AdSense was deliberately serving up different combinations to keep some variety in the adblocks and not just fill them with four ads every time just because there was enough inventory.

HP, Google added a clever sub-algorithm that detects people who post about stat lags, and then inserts additional ones into the usual ebb and flow. Watch out--this could lead to a diabolical feedback loop!

my stats are are also massively lagging, im 70% down today
and yesterdays has not caught up either. Analytics and
other cpms say trafic is normal

Yes, I am seeing this as well - stats are about 50% of normal

Hmm, on the AdWords side we were told we had to make sure our cost data was imported into Analytics by today - wonder if if this related to that issue, since you can't take one down (or slow it down) for maintenance without the other being affected.

I almost had a heart attack when I saw my earnings for today - glad I read this thread! Whew! I like Karma's idea of putting a short message on the overview page.

i LOVE LOVE LOVE stuck stat days. They're my favorite.

I know for sure my stats won't catch up and I'll have a crap few weeks.

The best part is though, I hadn't even finished benefiting from their last lot of "tweaks" which means February is likely to be the worst earnings for a long time.

I love Google. :)

OMG I just have to laugh here cause I always thought that I was all alone in what the heck is going on now in Google land...? Turns out that chest pain, taking advil and wondering #*$! is all par for the course.

My earnings have been stuck at 50% for quiet awhile now when yesterday was kickass.

Thanks for the heads up Adsense Advisor. It's morning here and it's not something you like to wake upto. I trust you when you say it won't effect earnings, but from time to time on these days they always tend to be a little lower than usual? When stats get delayed..

True, nuthin, I've never seen a day where stats lagged or there was some kind of issue turn out better than normal.

AdSenseAdvisor: this may have been suggested elsewhere and it really belongs in the 'features wanted' section, but I'll risk looking foolish (as always!)

It would be very helpful to publishers if there was a prominent 'system status' message visible when logged in to our AdSense publisher accounts during a maintenance event like this.

It seems kind of strange (to me, anyway) to have to scan WebmasterWorld or watch the official AdSense blog for announcements when we are checking revenues.

While logged in, we get to see all kinds of helpful stuff telling us about ways to optimize and how to learn about success stories but I find it a bit surprising that Google doesn't provide a real-time status message feature that provides timely status messages like:

"We are undergoing system maintenance from hh:mm to hh:mm today. During this time, reporting may be delayed. Ads will continue to show during this time and your earnings will continue to accrue etc etc..."

Imagine a harried webmaster sitting in pajamas in the kitchen, nearly freaking out and deciding whether to pull AdSense from a site due to weak performance of late. "OMG! $0.03 so far today! I can't take it any more!"

Clear, timely status information might help avert disaster... :D
