Frustrated can't get an answer

I have an online chat application which we have on our sites and 3rd party publishers integrate into their sites.

I want to add google adsense into the application but can't get clear answers as to whether I can do that.

The best suggestion is that I need G to agree to it specifically. Problem is they're impossible to contact to request the agreement.

I want to do it all at our development expense so just need them to check the app is all above board and meets their requirements.

Anyone have any idea how I can achieve this?

I don't recall any mentions of that being forbidden, but I haven't read the TOS recently. What I can assure you is that the Adsense requires CONTENT. Chat is not content (in my consideration). My opinion is not important here, but as a precaution measure, check this forum to see the ambiguity of this.

Several webmasters had their sites rejected (not closed accounts) but sites rejected and google stating "this site doesn't fit into the model" or lines like that.

So, as you can see, there are others who had their accounts closed by a consideration of a Google member, and not finding exactly the "forbidden" line on the TOS.

Personally, I don't find the chat idea too good or practical for AS, but I know you wouldn't reveal the details of your project.

The project is live and established so no probs there. Not allowed to publish the URL here as it's against ww TOS but it's much like twitter and travel specific. So not so much chat but streaming live content, very useful and very on-topic. Much like a forum but with the live dimension.

I think contextual ads would work brilliantly as they do in facebook and would in twitter should they ever decide to go in that direction.

Does anyone know a way to get a partnership question through directly to the right person at google?

Can the ads target the content? Can you control the conversation...what kind of language will be used? Would it be just one page load and that's it?

Yes, should be able to target the content. The conversation is controlled by the community but is tagged by destination so is generally well on topic, javascript, nope its very dynamic. I can sticky you a URL if you might be able to get me a definite answer whether we can replace current ads with adsense.

Just to clarify, there are many ways to add a revenue model to this application and lots of interested parties. The reason I see adsense as a great option is that it's so easy to integrate but also most prospective publishers who are integrating the application on their sites already have adsense accounts so it makes life very easy for them.

I did get an answer from someone on the adsense forum that google doesn't allow adsense in chat rooms or apps but I don't see that in the TOS so not sure whether it's accurate or just someones out of date knowledge or opinion.

I'm really stuck until I can get clarification directly from Google one way or another.
