Page Impression Decrease - Whats The Cause ?

In the last few days I have noticed a significant decrease in page impressions. I am unsure of the cause of this.

Am I right in thinking that pageviews in google analytics and page impressions should match up if I have adds on all the pages ?

Yesterday I had 11,000 pageviews but only 7,000 page impressions.

I recently stopped using an url rewriter on my forum and reverted back to the dynamic urls. Howevere this is all done via 301 and has been tested to show the 301 is working.

What reasons can there be for decrease in page impressions ?

Perhaps your pages are not loading all the way... Or your server is slow... and folks are leaving before the ads load?

Or G is showing PSA ads, which I don't think count towards your stats...

No the server is really fast, I pay over the odds for a good one. What is PSA ads and how will I know if Im getting them ? Am I right in thinking that if things are working fine that page views and page impressions should be the same ?

PSA means Public Service Ads. If Adsense has no paying ads to serve on your pages it will serve up PSAs (if your Adsense settings allow this) instead. PSAs do not pay you anything.

In theory I suppose. I've never seen it happen with my sites though.
