my question is this ? why are the ads not relevant to the topics (my first post was a pizza article) and all the ads seem to be relevant only to the first post

I started a new blog to give adsense a test drive ...
Are you planning to discontinue your blog once you've completed the AdSense test?

How many posts are on the blog now? Are they all about pizza or a hodge-podge of topics?
This is a contextual advertising program with the topic of the ads based on the topic of the page. If you're writing about pizza, you'll likely get pizza related ads if they are available.
If you're writing about a number of different topics, AdSense is likely trying to determine the topic of your blog posts and is returning ads for the topic(s) it has discovered and that will make the most money for you and for AdSense.
If you continue to write about a variety of topics, the topic of the ads will likely change.

I didnt realize they pulled the url out of the post.
If I make any money ... I'll keep it going... if not i will probaly drop it.
I've heard some have done real well with adsense and i seen others gripe about how little they pay - so I figure this is the best way to see for myself

Yes, it's against the forum rules here at WW. Even though you tried to disguise it, it will probably get pulled again as soon as a moderator reviews this thread.

It's not a matter of how much Google pays, they pay well in my experience, it's a matter of how much you earn.
It looks like your model is to copy and paste articles to your blog, the same articles that others have copied and pasted to their blogs/sites. If that's going to be your model going forward, you'll probably be in the group that gripes about how much they earn.
Your chances of being in the group that does well with AdSense will be improved if you'll close that blog and forget it and focus on getting the horse in front of the cart instead of the other way around.
You can start by spending a number of hours reading prior threads on this forum to learn what creates success and what causes dismal results.
