A Sunday like in the good old time

Am I the only one with a Sunday like usual, many month ago?

This Sunday was 70% above monthly daily average.

Same traffic like last Sunday and the Sunday before,
but eCPM like in the good old time, spring to summer 2008

Certainly not me, in fact Saturday and Sunday were my two lowest PI days of the year since January 1st.

CTR was in the "new credit crunch" range with my EPC still strong.

Everything I earn now until December 31st is a bonus. I deliberately set myself a low target for December and I have already surpassed it therefore I know I can afford some Xmas beer...ooops, I mean cheer:-)

Not at all.

This was another very low CTR day continuing the trend of another dreary month income-wise, relatively speaking, across all sectors my sites cover.

Like HuskyPup, I am considering anything a bonus this month on even relatively huge sites, with the paradoxically increased EPC not compensating for the 50% drop in CTR from months and years past (seen year-over-year or month-by-month, or almost by any angle)...

But 'tis the season to get drunk...

Normal here, too (by our December standards, which are pretty low).

Yesterday was the second best day of the month.

I have to look back to July 20th 2008,
to find a better day like this.

Therefor Sunday was the second best day of half a year.

The revenue for the last few days has been dire. Today is shaping up to be the worst (almost a tenth of normal revenue) day this year. Piles of Doubleclick crap driving out good advertising and poor targeting seems to be the cause.

I should note that although yesterday was good, december is still a crappy month though. Saturday was my worst day in months.

"piles of doubleclick crap"

Doubleclick has ads running in AdSense? I know it's owned by G but I haven't seen any. Are they keyword based ads, like those old "Buy [keywords] cheap" from a certain auction site, or are they really productive ads? Are they worth banning and can they be banned?

Thanks.

I have yet to find a Doubleclick ad unworthy of the ad filter.

I've noticed my domain in the URL's I copy from the Doubleclick ads. It appears as if they are targeting my site somehow.

Once I found and filtered all of them, my income has soared. Could be a coinkidinky, but I will look for and filter every one of them I find. If my ad filter gets full, I'll have to remove AdSense. These ads appear to be ruining the program.

Looks to me as if Google's desperate to make their quarterly numbers. That's just sad.

I haven't noticed any... or I don't know what I am looking for. Can you give me a hint?

Just start by right-clicking and ad, copy the URL and examine them. Don't forget to follow them home and checking the quality of the landing pages.

Like I said, I don't see any doubleclick ads. I just read part of another thread here -- are doubleclick ads solely graphical? I have only text ads across all sites.

It was only a good Sunday complete outside all December stats.

A big spike in the statistic.

Monday was like last Monday :(

Well Sunday wasn't especially flash. Friday was really out of control.

But since then....

One day = one hour years ago.

I'm seeing utter #*$!e Doublecrap adverts on one site. It seems that Adsense has changed from being a contextually targeted advertising system to one being run by some MBAs who don't give a damn about anything except shifting advertising inventory. Then again it could be the economy.
