Just started with AdSense, and I was hoping you guys could fill in a few blanks for me.

1. First, is there a way I can influence what ads are being posted on my pages if I am not happy with the ones they are using?

2. Is the AdSense Channel information normally delayed a day or two? (While regular AdSense reports are updated every few hours, my Channels take a few days)

3. Is it better to use text ads or Image ads?

Thanks!

You get to exclude up to 200 advertisers by URL in Ad Settings - URL Filter - but you cannot add advertisers.

The channel delay you are experiencing is normal.

Text ads are better than image ads for me.

Yes, you can filter out up to 200 advertizers, but generally the ads showing are the highest paying ads available at the moment they appear. So filtering them out might result in lower income.

Aside from that, the filtering process can be quite frustrating because there seems to be no end to some types of ads.

Because ads are assigned based on the content of your page, changing the wording on the page can sometimes help draw better ads.

The text just before and just after the ad code on your source page may have a significant effect on the ads that appear.
