Vanguard seems to have rejected IP address indicators simply because most of their customers wouldn't be familiar with the usefulness of knowing their IP address. Perhaps Adsenes publishers are a little more internet savvy?
Not bothered in the slightest. I'd rather more important things were looked at. eg unlimited channels, ban by pub-id etc etc
I'm with the "like who cares" brigade.
You do realise that if someone has your password they can login at anytime and monitor your adsense and you wouldn't ever know it unless you could monitor the IP of the last login?
I'm surprised Google hasn't done this on their own. I think it's a basic security requirement and will be implemented eventually.
The thing is it's easy to code and non-controversial, so just do it. Can't go wrong. (Don't know why it wasn't done long ago.) I know my email service does it, and it's a good basic security feature.
p/g
I know my email service does it
My e-mail service does it, a couple of other ad agencies do it, my online bank and brokerage do it. It has recently become common practice.
I know its not a proprity with many because it's not something that will earn you more money, but any bit of extra security is always welcome these days. Reason I brought it up is a few months ago I received an automated e-mail from Google that my password had been changed and I had never changed it. Monitoring IPs allows you to quickly detect unauthorized access to your account.
If you don't think it's important you've never had an identity thief clean you out.
True... I have never been subject to Identity theft. I never use places like ebay, rarely buy online, never use online banking, PC fully protected from trojans, worms, viri etc. Only person who has access to this PC.
In other words you're too innocent, naive and leaving the barn door open because the horse hasn't been stolen yet.
lmao, Far from it. An old sage more like it. :)
OTOH I don't see any importance to larger filters or more channels, don't need 'em.
Maybe you don't, but there are others here - me included - that do. I have a large site and would love to set up 1000's of URL channels for it. Then there are the other sites...
What does everyone else think? Is this something you'd want?

Actually neither have I, but why would you oppose a security measure that would not cost you anything or inconvenience you and may come in handy one day? Just being cranky?

I don't see the point in it, esp when there are more important requests.
Okay, so I log in and see a different IP address. So what ? All that proves is that my PC is not protected and the IP of *someone else* ... Bit late if the damage has already been done.
And If the Copyright Agencies cannot prove that XYZ was using the PC with given IP address at a certain time etc, then how are you going to ?
True, it won't be an inconvenience, nor will it cost me anything. But I would hardly call it high priority, esp if ASA has requested to us the most important things we want.
Just being cranky?

I know, you're too cool to get scammed. You did seem to break the forum with an open tag though (this won't make any sense after the mods fix it).
No, the damage has not been done until they change your password and lock you out of your own account. Then they can change the payee.
1 : I am logged on 95% of the day.
2: You are mistaking me for someone who gives a ....

At least we have cleared that bit up ;)

That's what happens when trying to do too many things at once I guess.
Or maybe someone else logged into my WebmasterWorld account.... <G>
