Got the email today...

<snip>about non-compliance with AS TOS</snip>

But the thing is the domain in question is no longer owned by me and is NOT displaying Google ads, and hasn't been for at least a year.

But the interesting part is a friend of mind received the same type email also specifying a domain that he hasn't owned in years.

Anyone else? Fake maybe? Adsense Team Cracking Down a little to hard? Mistake?

Maybe they decided they want to close some accounts and are just using any random domain they collected info on over the past few years to start the process.

First thought: Check the full header. Make sure that this isn't a phishing scam designed to capture your AdSense login.

I got the same thing last night for a domain that has been deindexed by google for over a year. I took out all the ads right away. I hope thats enough until I can fix whats wrong. I just wish they were a little more specific on what the actual problem is instead of being so cryptic.

Being cryptic is what they seem to be best at. I got similar messages in January. I kept asking what the problem was - they just pointed to the TOS without any other information. Google disabled ad serving from any sites they did not like and that was the end of it. A third of my "empire" became worthless overnight.
