One success story amid the decline

I've been running AdSense on my site(s) since June/03. Today was my best earnings day ever, and the day's not done yet (just under 3 hrs to go). In fact, my top 10 earning days have all been this month. Needless to say I'm setting a new personal record this month for earnings.

I'm not saying this to brag, I'm just letting everyone know that not everyone's earnings are down lately. I'm ecstatic, I hope this keeps up. Who knows... the AS income is a bit unpredictable but I'll take it!

I've worked hard to get traffic up this year, I've added plenty of new content, fixed robots.txt files to keep SEs from indexing junk & duplicate files, blocked traffic from a country who spams a lot, updated outdated scripts, started one new (small) niche website, etc. In general I just kept doing what I've been doing. It probably helps that my websites are my sole source of income so I have more time than most people to dedicate to it.

I hope I can inspire others to keep at it even if things are down right now. Just like the markets, think long-term. Provide value to visitors, generate unique content, etc.

Glad to hear good news, we all need plenty of that. Good luck with the sites, it sounds like you are doing all the right things. Giving your audience what they want and keeping it simple.

Oh, the main money maker is an 8 year old site that I started from scratch that I've just kept adding to... It's about widgets, or more specifically it let's people talk about their widgets ;-)

Hey Swanny, my websites are my sole source of income too, I've been with AdSence since 2005 and by pure coincidence (I think) I had my worst day ever yesterday. Actually, it's been declining for a few months and in particular the last week. You're doing something right, so obviously I'm doing something very wrong.

I'll hang in there I think though, because it may well pick up.

Swanny007 I too have been experiencing an increase with my 1,000,000 imp day traffic. I can guarantee that most of the increase has paid off from getting my daily imp from 300k to 1million in the last 6 months, the rest is Adsense getting better CPC :)
