I have a strictly culinary website. Today there are ads on my home page for nothing but funeral homes, bereavement services and cemeteries! In no way does this relate to anything either in the meta tags or content. Has anyone else seen anything like this lately? No wonder my CTR and EPC have fallen through the floor.

I haven't changed any content for about a week now. The content is nothing but recipes, photographs and recipe links.

You may have introduced a word or words that may have double meanings. I did have to go check my own recipe site but all is well there and properly targetted.

Thanks, I will go through it one more time. In addition, I'm getting birth control ads throughout the site!

When Adsense occasionally goes nuts like this on my site, I get ads for unattended death cleanup services, bulk industrial chemicals, and unusual medical products like incontinence clamps. I've sometimes wondered if it's because Google doesn't have enough on-topic publisher sites for displaying these sort of uncommon ads and so sometimes they just serve them up on random sites.

If you want to see what the default ads look like for your domain, create a page with ads and block it with robots.txt before publishing. Newly published pages also display default ads for a short time.
