UK - Looks as though impressions are lagging however clicks are at a complete standstill.

Either that or my AdSense is in a death sprial!

And me, but based on the last couple of days it could indeed be a continuing death spiral!

Must be that new program I installed redirecting all clicks to me. Yesterday I had the highest pageviews since Christmas and today's revenue is already beyond my normal earnings.

My stats are not stuck, but I'm finally getting the pageviews clicks and earnings I've been expecting.

Those of you not doing as well, hang in there. You know one thing about AdSense. It's like the weather. It will change.

It just takes a while these days, I guess. I'm quite sure they are lagging (or were) because one of my entertainment sites always gets a huge bump of traffic when certain movies are shown on TCM, as they were this morning. My logs show lots of traffic, AdSense, not so much.

It'll catch up.

My CTR was dismal yesterday, and ended up that way. So it wasn't late reporting. But earnings were very good.

My CTR is dismal again today, as well. Mid single digits. Has been double digits for a month! I made no changes. Where have my clicks gone? Yikes!

Seeing a drop here but there isn't enough data to call it a trend. Keep in mind that the US elections are heating up (Now Ain't than an understatement) plus we have a couple of hurricaines coming up the eastern half of the US.

So, I'm just going to keep working on my sites and consulting and see what happens in a week or so.

I've had a mini dump now however it's interesting to note that servers have more than a passing interest in elections and weather systems:-)

Maybe it's something to do with electricity?

Since I'm usually reporting that I too am stuck I am pleased to say that things have been delightfully normal all day with earnings slightly better than last week.

Hi,

those of you that are having bad days, could it be that you have less visitors from Google Images?

I spent all afternoon trying to understand why my images are not indexed anymore on Google (Went from 3000 to 239 on September 1st). About the same thing for a similar site.

No answer yet...

Lost 30% of my visitors and Adsense revenue...

Maybe it's something to do with electricity?

that's why I tape ALL electrical connections to my computer in case electricity is leaking out. ;)

other than that, it's a death spiral.

in case electricity is leaking out

Try submerging it in water then it won't leak! :-)

In reply to Shrike99

One particular page of mine gets most of its traffic from Google Images. This started all of a sudden some time ago. The traffic from that source remained high for a while but then completely disappeared - then it came back - then it disappeared - and then it came back again.

After reading your message I wondered if another disappearance from the Google Images index had occurred. That wasn't the case. If anything, traffic from Google Images to that page has increased recently.

However, the pattern from previous experience is that it is completely unpredictable and liable to dry up at any time without any warning or reason.

The problem I have been seeing since the start of September is a slightly lower CTR but hugely lower payments on clicks. I too was optimistic about a return to decent levels this month after the end of the holiday season but this has been my worst ever start to a month.

Well usually september is a good comeback from the summer lulls but these past days have indeed been disappointing, as in... no comeback, same as august. Actually, this wednesday has been under my august average. A mix of low traffic and low EPC it seems.

PS: Google image search can be *very* fickle. I would never dare focus my site traffic on it.

Both yesterday, and now today, I have seen occurrences of two clicks on the same page for 1 cent. Whatever I do to improve my content or increase my traffic, it is just a waste of time with those kind of payments.

I was very optimistic at 5 pm PDT yesterday, it looked like a very good day was shaping up. Then the "stuck struck" and almost nothing happened between then and the end of the day, It was a very unnatural progression and it did not match the curve of my actual traffic at all.

Of course I could torture logic and find some "rational explanation" for this. If I don't I'm sure someone here will.

This is demoralizing and gives me little incentive to improve my site.

This is demoralizing and gives me little incentive to improve my site.

I understand where you are coming from, but I believe that as I continue to improve my site(s), they wil eventually be able to generate more (profitable) income streams other than Adsense. With any luck, I will reach a level where I have many income streams of equal strength. Adsense will then be just another flavor.

I guess what I'm saying is that if Adsense is the ONLY incentive to improve my site(s) Id be in for a really rocky ride.

Thank you for your words of encouragement. I agree that it appears inevitable that AdSense will be a smaller piece of the pie and that "improving my site" now includes the unpleasant task of taking a greater role in managing ads or other income streams. It's not what I want to do, I guess I'll have to call it "work."

I had something odd happen yesterday too - the individual clicks in my adsense report added up to less that what the total clicks were - same for the total $ amount.
Could it be a credit of some sort?

HuskyPup

or my AdSense is in a death sprial!

Fortunately I have a ton of real work to do and since the spiral is just getting worse and worse I think I'll not even bother checking metrics for a few days nor come here since it's both pointless and depressing since there is not a single thing within my control that I can do except remove AdSense altogether!

I've seen some $2.00 clicks today (on a forum board!) but the quantity of $0.01-0.05 clicks is ridiculous, I'd rather Google gave them to charity than see clicks of this "value" polluting my metrics!

I'm fairly sure what and why it is happening and unless one is in a sector which is popular and expanding right now many are going to feel as though they are flogging a dead horse.

Be sure not to enter into the forum spirit and suggest what you think might be happening and why HuskyPup. Far better to post that you know what's going on but that you won't tell anyone.

I reckon there's a lot of processing going on at the 'plex and anyone way below normal might be rewarded later in the week.

husky... I've stickied you my ID. if you don't mind, can you slap it onto your site with lots of 5 cents clicks? If your traffic is anything to go by, I'd say that would give me enough to buy a house or maybe a Porsche. hehehe...

;) ;) ;)

Hope it does get sorted soon, our sites have dived and if they don't come up for air soon it means finding a real job!

Mine were bad for yesterday too - perhaps 50% of what I would have expected. Something is going on but normally processing delays are sorted faster than this. I'd like to retract my idea of a processing delay and instead go for a "we're all doomed".

I'd also have retracted my little insult aimed at HuskyPup after the very helpful post in the Google News forum, but the post edit timeout proved troublematic. Please ignore or forgive that.
