Concentrate on ECPM or Page Impressions?

Concentrate on ECPM or Page Impressions?

I have recently added an adlink in the navigation section - this has increased the page impressions and there is possibly more earning [I've just added it so don't know - it has about 1% click-through and $1 ecpm].

I usually show ads only to logged out users - but this adlink is displayed to all users [logged in and logged out]/

So my question is should I try to maintain my previous high ecpm and wait for traffic growth or should I let the ecpm drop and go with the marginal increase in earnings?

Can anyone share their experience regarding any such move - where you have forsaken ecpm for page impressions.

1. Will my site be more attractive to site targeted advertisers if they see I have lots of impressions.

2. Will reducing the ecpm attract the wrong kind of ads [the cheaper kind]?

I'm with eeek. Some of my ad links have deplorable average EPC, but it still adds up, so I put it on my pages while holding my nose.
