Right now, my best paying ads are a medium square, it's in the sidebar. It receives a great CTR but not a very good CPC.

What I'm wondering is, does the text close to the ad block effect the ads shown or the CPC?

Obviously I'll have to redesign things if having the ad set away from the content slightly, is effecting either CPC or the actual ads shown. I want to attract as many ads as possible to generate more competition.

Personally I think that the content that is crawled for doesn't have to do with where that content is located. I think the adsense spiders crawl the whole content and not just the content that is near the ads.

If you want to target higher paying keyword content then you should try section-targeting just to target the content that you want Adsense to crawl for.
