How long before adsense shows relevant ads?

Just bought and launched a new site.

I bought a domain. It's been around for a long time. I bought it and put all new content on it. The site used to be about a topic dealing with travel. Now, it's about something totally different. But when I put adsense on there today, it is displaying ads about travel.

How long can I expect it to take Adsense to start displaying relevant ads? Has anyone else experienced this?

I asked once Google regarding this issue and they told me that it takes up to 30 minutes for their bot to crawl the page you run AdSense code.

Were these same pages running AdSense before? If so, changing the ad unit size will usually prompt a revisit.

It's now day 2 and the same travel ads are still there. This time there are some golf ads there too. (?) This site has never had adsense on it before. I am certain. It's also interesting that the page topic is not even in the same ballpark as the ads that are presenting. It's like having a site about basketball, with ads showing up about christmas trees or something. Nothing alike. They're not PSA's either.

I have several other sites that run adsense on them, and I am familiar with how to optimize the page for good adsense terms. The page topic is a very narrow topic, not general at all. I should be getting a good set of ads there.

I obviously need to really go through this page and see what's the deal.

I am still open to suggestions.

Thanks, Jenstar. Changing the ad unit size did the trick!
