PSA's - only on certain pages?

This is odd.

One of my best pages on my site (small blog - doesn't generate much income, but any little extra is nice) suddenly started bringing in $0 revenue yesterday. This particular page has a #2 listing on Google for a popular "iPhone" search query... so I'm pretty happy with having that page there and the traffic it brings.

But now that page only shows PSA's. Other pages on my site? They work fine. I've only found one other page that has these PSA's (so a total of 2), everything else works exactly like it should.

It's a Wordpress site - so obviously the same code is being served up each time. Any ideas on why AdSense would start showing PSA's for one particular page?

I've dropped a line to AdSense support on this as well. Not sure if/when I will get something back. But I'll be sure to share my findings if anything useful comes through...

Thanks!

One thing you can try is section targetting, if you're not already doing it:

The only reasons I know of that they show PSAs is if they can't figure out what kind of ads to show on the page, or else if there's something on the page for which they don't *want* to show ads. If it's an iphone related subject, I can't imagine why it would be objectionable, unless there's some kind of trademark issue, but I never heard of AdSense not serving because of trademark either. Probably they're the only ones who will be able to tell you why.

Try making a test page that's a duplicate (just for your own use - orphan it from being connected to the rest of the site) and see if it serves PSAs. If so, then start removing sections until you get regular ads again.

Could be a "stop word". User comments enabled on that page?

There are many reasons PSAs may be displayed on your site. I would encourage you to check this list [google.com] of possible reasons. The AdSense Troubleshooter [google.com] may also help you determine the cause of this issue.

ASA, thanks for the link. That's very helpful.

Even though I'm not getting PSAs, it's interesting to see what can trigger them. There are two reasons in particular that I never would have considered:
"Your website is using session IDs in the URL"
"Your page contains a refresh tag"

I'm also having this problem. I noticed it a couple of days ago. I have my site set up like: www.mysite.com/blog

Only the home page of the blog is showing PSA's. Other pages on the site, and single topic blog pages are showing regular ads. This is an established site that has been up for years. I have made no changes of any kind to the blog at all.

Has anyone figured this out?

That won't change anything until Google reads the page again. Reading the page will probably fix the problem anyway.
