I was looking at the topic threads, you know about the adsense referral ads becoming a thing of the past and I was thinking to myself about the possibility of there being a time when Adsense will say "just forget about it" and stop having adsense ads all together?

Finally one of a few of the legitmate ways to make money online - is it at a risk of being no more

and

how would that make you feel?

For me I know its the case of not putting one's eggs all in one basket but the Adsense money that I DO get helps QUITE alot!
:) :)

I'd be excited because of the opportunity to fill that void!

What would even suggest this possibility to you? All they did was drop one, rather unpopular ad format.

If an upscale restaurant removes liverwurst sandwiches from their menu, it does not mean that they are going out of business.

It's just a thought that came to my head when I was looking at the different thread topics.

Maybe its a sign that I'm not just obsessive but manic depressive as well! :(

AdSense generated $1.66 billion in revenues in the last quarter. Multiply by four, and you're talking around $6 billion per year. I don't think Google will be saying "just forget about it" any time soon .:-)

Rose, Things can and do change. However I think it will just morph into some
thing else. Perhaps better and more lucrative to all involve...KF

It's much more likely that you, as an individual, would deprived of AdSense (i.e., being banned) long before AdSense as a whole disappeared. And if by chance it did disappear, most likely somethign better would have taken its place and run it into disappearance.

While the program itself may morph, it's doubtful it would go away, unless the entire Internet itself morphed into somethign completely different. In which case, most likely Google (or at least some other company with a similar program) would be at or near the forefront and morphing its cas machine along the same lines.

As the Internet matures there will be more and more ways to monetize traffic in my opinion. If there is something we should worry about, it is whether or not in the future we (the little guys) will still be able to build/maintain high volumes of traffic.
