I was just wondering what others think is a good CTR? I'm averaging 5.3% for August/September and was wondering if there is anything else I can do, or if that's pretty much the maximum. I'm happy with the CTR and the income, and was wondering what others experiences are.
Sorry, but there is no magical number. CTR, is subjective to several, if not many, variables.... just like everything else.
Your question is akin to asking if $12/hr is a good hourly wage. If you are sacking groceries its probably great, if you are CCIE certified it's the most likely the opposite. Factor in location, experience, tenure, etc & it gets even more complicated.
FWIW I've have sites that range from double what you posted (at minimum)... and others that are 1/10(at max) what you posted.... so there's a range from >10.6% to <.5%, and I consider them all to be a top CTR for their topic, traffic, etc.
Comparing numbers will only mislead you... you could pull our hair out trying to attain someone else's number when in fact you are doing exceptional, and at the same time, could be patting yourself on the back for doubling-up another's numbers, while doing a poor job and having lots of room for improvement.
Needless to say, your 5.3% CTR could be outstanding, poor, average, or any other number of adjectives.
Your best gauge is to use your own numbers for comparison & not even pay attention to other's specific numbers.
