Does blocking specific ads really work?

I know that we can block up to 200 ads from Adsense account; but I also heard that adsense is geo targeted, which I think means the users see different ads if they are viewing the site from different countries. Please correct me if I am wrong...

If what I understand is correct, then my question is: how can I block some of the ads that show only in, for example, New Zealand and India since I wont be able to see those ads myself from where i am sitting....

thanks for your help =)

I suggest to use Google's official preview tool for Internet Explorer. It will allow you to select certain regions, e.g. New Zealand or India, and see the top-12 of ads shown in these territories. The tool allows you to retrieve the URL for the ad, and to subsequently block the URL.

Be warned, though: the preview tool is far from perfect, especially if you have a large website (e.g. thousands of pages) or want to see beyond the first 12 ads. It also does not show Flash ads. So, it's not really a cool tool.

Well, if all you have is a hammer, everything becomes a nail. :-)
